Behind the facade of a 14th century building that was once a monastery of nuns, through the narrow streets of the Contrada di S. Agnolo, lies the Hotel La Locanda, a designer hotel that is a real explosion of colors and pop optical patterns with a tribute to neoclassical design. Different rooms to satisfy the different types of holidays, but all of them are united by a wonderfully retro decor.
The hotel has been converted from a convent.
The owner of the building in the second half of the 18th century was Anton Filippo Giachi, a famous historian, who specialized in Etruscan history.
He incorporated some of his archaeological finds into the facade of the building, including urns with imaginary animals and a representation of the journey to the underworld.
